Best Way To Connect Your Fire TV With Your PC
ES Explorer is the best way to connect your Fire TV to your PC/Windows computer. Here are the steps you’ll need to take:
Step 1
From your Amazon Fire TV home screen, click on the microscope icon and then search for ES File Explorer.
Step 2
Click the relevant option and then install the ES File Explorer on your FireStick.
Step 3
Now you’ll set up FTP on FireStick. To do that, launch ES File Explorer.
Step 4
Click on View on PC. If you can’t see the option, then click on Network and then click on View on PC.
Step 5
From the new window, find your PC network. While you’re on it, make sure both your PC and Fire TV device are on the same network.
Step 6
Now you need to scroll a bit and click the button that says Turn On. Once you do that, you should have enabled the FTP server IP.
Step 7
Take note of the FTP server IP address.
Now that you have enabled FTP on your FireStick, you’ll need to take the following steps:
Step 8
Go to your PC and launch a web browser of your choice (like Mozilla Firefox with Offline Mode enabled). Then input the IP address that you noted down in step 7. Once you do that, your browser should take you to the ES Explorer screen.
Step 9
Copy and paste files that you need to transfer to your Fire TV Stick from the PC.
And that is it. You should open up ES File Explorer on your Fire TV to confirm that the files have been transferred correctly.
Alternative Way To Transfer Files on FireStick via Android
Alternatively, you can use the Send Files to TV app for transferring files to Fire TV.
To do that, install the Send Files to TV app on your Android device (find it on Google Play here), then install the app on your FireStick device as well.
Then, open both apps on both devices and use the send/receive button to transfer files (make sure you give the app on each of your devices all the necessary permissions it needs to carry out its work).
Note:
You may need to know the IP address of each connected device, or you can make sure both devices are on the same network.Programs You Will Need To Transfer Files To Fire TV Stick
For Windows, Mac and Linux devices, your best free option is FileZilla as an FTP client.
If you’re on the Android platform, the best free FTP client is AndFTP.
For iOS devices, FTP Manager (the free version) is the best option.
There are lots of other apps that allow you to transfer files via different technologies. For example, if you want to use Bluetooth for file transfer (from Fire Stick to Android), you can use the Bluetooth File Transfer app.
For WiFi transfers on Android, you can use the Portal app.

The methods we mentioned above will work for all types of media files, including photos, movies and other content (if your Fire Stick has the storage space for large media files).Generally, the steps will come down to you installing ES File Explorer to connect your Fire Stick TV streaming devices, then activating the Remote Access Manager. After that, you need to note down the IP address that ES Explorer provides you via the Network Status panel and then install a program like FileZilla or any File Transfer Protocol program you want on your PC (if you want advanced features; otherwise, a browser can work as well).
